Health and Safety Policies - FAQs

Please be aware that we have made changes to our health and safety policies due to the resurgence of COVID-19. As of December 25, 2021, masks are required in the cinema. Masks may be removed while actively eating or drinking in your reserved seat.

Why should you come to Gables Cinema in the time of COVID-19? As a local nonprofit arts organization, our community is our priority. We will not compromise your health and safety for profits. Things have changed. We’re taking every precaution to ensure that your visit is safe and satisfying when you are ready to come back and enjoy the shared experience of cinema. Coral Gables Art Cinema is part of the National Association of Theatre Owners' CinemaSafe program, which promotes protocols and guidelines developed and supported by leading epidemiologists to support a safe return to movie theaters.

How do I buy tickets?

Tickets may only be purchased online and in advance from either our website or by calling the box office (786.472.2249). Only debit or credit cards accepted. Sorry, NO CASH SALES.

Can I reserve my seat in advance?

Yes, reserved seating is now in place and required. Reduced capacity (75%) and staggered seating is in effect to accommodate social distancing. Click here to watch a video that will walk you through selecting a seat using our new reserved seating system.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Masks are required for all guests, regardless of vaccination status. Masks may be removed while actively eating or drinking in your reserved seat.

Can I buy concessions?

Yes, but you may eat and drink only while sitting in your reserved seat. Please do not eat or drink in other areas.

What other steps have you taken to ensure the safety of patrons and employees?

  • Touchless credit / debit card sales only (no cash for now).
  • Online purchase of tickets and concessions.
  • Maintain social distancing during your visit. Follow the directional signs in place throughout the building.
  • Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are available throughout the building.
  • Air purifiers have been installed in all common areas of the building.
  • Enhanced cleaning between movie screenings and every night after we close.
  • If you are unwell, we ask you to please stay home and return only when you are feeling better.

Our main priority is keeping you and all of us safe. Our comprehensive health and safety plan is approved by Miami-Dade County, the City of Coral Gables, and the Coral Gables Fire Department.
